Community Rail Cumbria helps out with the DRS apprentice training programme

Community Rail Cumbria (CRC), together with Direct Rail Services (DRS), organised an unique day that was aimed at reinforcing the DRS apprentice training programme.  Topics covered included the value and importance of rail in relation to economic and social impact of rail;  how DRS commitment and support for CRC Cumbria is benefitting our isolated Cumbrian communities and how railway stations can be so much more than places to wait for a train. Apprentices then journeyed to Millom Heritage Centre, seeing the positive impact of various CRC projects at stations along the Cumbria Coast Line.  A informative and enjoyable day was had by all.
