Each year Community Rail Cumbria produces a unique Calendar as a warm thank you for all the stakeholders and volunteers who support Cumbria’s railways. The theme of our 2022 Calendar is  “Every station tells a story” which offers a moment to learn more of the history of Cumbria’s railways.

Railway stations have a wealth of history most of which is recorded diligently by keen enthusiasts fascinated by trains and tracks. “Every station tells a story” gives a glimpse of days gone by and invites us to explore further. From ghosts and royalty to movies and poetry our Cumbrian stations have plenty to say.

People have always had a fascination with old railway lines and stations and our Calendar shows a unique gallery of trains and stations from between 1846 and 1973. We hope you enjoy the stories and take a train journey from a railway station near you.
