Extensive engineering works around Acton Grange Junction (between Crewe and Preston on the West Coast Main Line) are due to take place with effect from 20 July through to 4 August 2019.  This will cause disruption to the normal rail timetables so please check your travel arrangements before setting out on your journey.  The works are part of the Great North Rail project and will include upgrading track, cabling, overhead lines and signalling.
