Since the end of March 2020 and in common with many other UK Train Operating Companies Northern has requested that rail use be solely for Key Workers and Essential Travel only. With the change from 2m social distancing to 1m+ Northern would like customers to be aware of recently published revised guidance provided by National Rail Enquiries before travelling:

Over the next few days the ‘out of use’ seat covers will be removed from all of the Northern trains except from a few areas where they will be retained for safety reasons.
