The inviting village of Drigg lies close to the coast. The lovely, old station building is now home to a cosy tea room and craft shop. Nearby stands the Victoria Hotel which has provided weary travellers with refreshment and meals since 1885. From the station a walk of about 1.5 km/1 mile to the beach with stunning views in both directions is well worth the effort.
The nearby sand dunes are a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a local nature reserve. These golden beaches are never busy and visitors can appreciate the solitude and tranquillity of the area. There is a fine walk along the beach between Seascale and Drigg. There are also plenty of other enjoyable walks for all the family.
