Kirkby-in-Furness

The village of ‘Kirkby-in-Furness’ grew as a result of the Furness Railway arriving in the 1850’s.

Modern day Kirkby lies on the shore of the Duddon Estuary and offers fine views to the mountains of the Lake District.  Now, the area is home to people who work in the nearby towns or have retired there to enjoy the tranquility, wildlife and stunning views. On a clear day there are wonderful views from the top of Kirkby Moor which rises to 334 metres/1098 feet in height.

Pam’s Barn at La’al Barn, Kirkby-in-Furness, is recommended for good service and tasty meals and refreshments.
