Silecroft

The location of Silecroft is superb, lying between the mouth of the Duddon Estuary and the slopes of Black and White Combes.  With miles  of golden sand, the award winning beaches are a joy to behold.

Within one mile is the Murthwaite Green Trekking Centre a friendly and professional family-run horse riding centre specialising in beach trekking. Beach fishing is also popular.   Silecroft village has a pub and a 9 hole golf course. It is also possible to walk from Silecroft to the top of Black Combe (600 metres/1970 feet) where, on a clear day,  there are views to Scotland, Ireland, Wales, the Isle of Man and to 14 English counties.

Silecroft station still has the original, old goods shed and signal box, guarding the level crossing.
